The North Dakota State Board of Dental Examiners protects the dental health of the citizens of North Dakota by regulating the practice of dentistry, dental hygiene, and dental assisting through the enforcement of laws, rules and policies. The board requires competency and ethical behavior in all areas of the practice of dentistry. The 1890 legislative assembly passed pharmacy practice legislation codified as North Dakota Century Code Chapter 43-15. This chapter requires the governor to appoint a state board of pharmacy. The board is responsible for examining and licensing applicants for licensure as pharmacists, for issuing permits to operate pharmacies, and for regulating and controlling the dispensing of prescription drugs and the practice of pharmacy for the protection of the health, welfare and safety of the citizens of the state.
