Advance Your Medical Safety Standards
Dear Doctor and Team,
We would like to take a moment to introduce MSDS and the regulatory compliance services we provide to dental practices. For more than 36 years, MSDS has worked with dental offices to strengthen their compliance with federal and state regulations while providing guidance and support during regulatory inspections.
Many providers have asked about the level of training, compliance protection, and inspection support available to their offices. To help clarify this, we would like to outline the qualifications of MSDS, the scope of our compliance services, and the support we provide to dental practices throughout the year.
The information below explains how MSDS assists offices with OSHA, HHS-HIPAA, Board of Dentistry (Infection Control), and American Heart Association requirements, and why having a qualified compliance specialist available during inspections can make a significant difference for your practice.
MSDS lectures on OSHA Federal and State guidelines as an instructor authorized by the Department of Labor (OSHA). Linda Cannon, president of MSDS, is authorized to teach up to a 30-hour General Industry course, which includes healthcare providers. We are instructor-trained under the American Heart Association and consult on Board of Dentistry code violations and regulations, as well as HHS-HIPAA regulations. MSDS has even been invited to Washington, DC by HHS to participate in discussions on the critical role of Cybersecurity and Ransomware.
1. Requirement for Qualified Instructor – OSHA/VOSH Compliance
Federal OSHA and Virginia VOSH regulations require that annual OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP) training be taught by a qualified expert who is able to answer questions in real time. Video-based programs often do not meet this requirement and, therefore, may not comply with federal law.
This raises an important question about support during an inspection: If a regulatory inspector arrives, will your organization assist immediately and advise the practice appropriately? And what guarantees do they provide to help prevent citations?
Many companies include fine-print disclaimers stating that support is contingent upon the client already being compliant with all federal and state regulations—making the “guarantee” effectively meaningless.
2. MSDS Compliance Support & Proven Record
MSDS has specialized in regulatory compliance for over 36 years. We currently serve more than 2,000 clients across 11 states. None of our clients have ever received a citation from OSHA or HHS-HIPAA while under our compliance programs.
When a client is inspected, Linda is contacted directly, and she personally speaks with the inspector to provide guidance and support. Our clients never face compliance concerns alone.
3. Scope of Support — What Are Offices Receiving?
Here are areas where MSDS provides ongoing support that others often do not:
· Hands-on support during inspections
· Assistance for doctors and staff with manuals, processes, and regulatory interpretations
· Hazard communication inserts for required manuals are included
· Guidance on “breaking down” the operatory and sterilization policies
· Mock inspections at a significantly lower cost than competitors (including photo reviews)
· Direct access 24/7—including nights and weekends
· No additional fees for answering questions or providing compliance guidance
Visit our website at www.MsdsSafety.com. As a client, you receive preferred access to additional information, archived newsletters, and manuals. MSDS is also a Continuing Education provider through PACE.
This level of access and advocacy is unmatched, and it’s what keeps clients safe and confident year-round.
4. Cost Comparison — True Value
Compared to other companies that charge anywhere from $700+ per single practice down to about $400 with quantity discounts, MSDS still delivers significantly greater value when compared “apples to apples.”
1. 10-hour inspection support allowance: For example, our OSHA Webinar includes 10 hours of support for an OSHA inspection prior to the course expiration date.
2. OSHA typically requires 2+ hours of support.
3. HIPAA compliance often requires 34 hours or more.
4. The Infection Control and Medical Emergencies webinar covers regulatory requirements from the Board of Dentistry. Annual
5. Pricing & Loyalty Commitment through Webinars
MSDS has always offered providers live webinar courses for $250. Staff members who cannot attend the live session may join a later webinar at no additional cost, and all participants receive CE credits through PACE.
MSDS offers monthly webinars for OSHA-BBP, HHS-HIPAA, Medical Emergencies for the Dental Office, and Infection Control. If requested, we can also add a Recordkeeping class.
Our pricing has never increased for loyal clients, and that remains our commitment.
We are fully prepared to continue supporting providers for the long term. Our team is growing, and Linda L. Cannon, Regulatory Compliance Specialist, is personally dedicated to ensuring every office receives the highest standard of compliance and protection—especially during inspections, where real expertise and advocacy matter most.
6. Mock Inspections
MSDS also performs Mock Inspections in your dental office. These inspections help bring your office into full compliance by identifying potential violations related to OSHA, State Board of Dentistry regulations, HIPAA, CDC guidelines, EPA requirements, fire codes, and more.
This process is intended to build confidence and is a favorite among staff members. It allows offices to correct minor issues before a regulatory authority conducts an official inspection.
Mock inspections take approximately four hours, and we welcome doctors and staff to follow along. This service is mandatory if your office has a pending complaint or potential inspection.
MSDS currently charges a travel fee of $2 per mile (one-way) for offices located outside the Hampton Roads area. We cover the return travel fee. This fee applies to Mock Inspections or any requested assistance for a required inspection.
We believe these conditions allow us to offer you the requested discount while maintaining loyalty discounts for clients who have been with us for more than 35 years.
Please let us know how you’d like to proceed, and we will arrange the discounted OSHA-BBP, HHS-HIPAA, Medical Emergency, and Infection Control Webinar for your office.

We look forward to hearing from you soon.
